Welcome to iStat Menus
Thanks for spending some time to get more familiar with iStat Menus. iStat Menus is set of nine separate and highly configurable menu items that let you know exactly what’s going on inside your Mac.
Global tab #
The global tab in iStat Menus contains settings that affect the entire app. These include the overall menu bar theme, the dropdown menu theme, how frequently iStat Menus refreshes stats, and how much spacing is around menu bar items.

Enabling and disabling menu items #
Each menu item can be enabled or disabled separately. This allows you to use any combination of menu items you desire, in any order you desire. If you’re not seeing any of iStat Menu’s menu items, it’s likely you don’t have any enabled. To enable a menu item, open iStat Menus, select an icon, and turn on the large switch near the top of the window.

It’s also possible to ⌥-click the icons in the side bar to turn items on and off.
Reordering menu items #
Menu items can be reordered by holding down the ⌘ key (command key) and dragging the icon in your Mac’s menu bar.

Changing the layout and design #
Most of the menu items have several different items within them that can be shown or hidden. For example, the CPU item can show a pie chart, a graph, a history graph, a percentage as text, a “CPU” label, and more.
To add items, click the + button.

Some items also have options. Simply click on the item to view them. Clicking outside the popover will close it. Items can be removed via the Remove Item button in the popover.

The Show Background setting removes the dark background behind menu bar graphs when the menu bar is in light mode.
