Color processing
When moving colors between design tools or into code, sometimes their appearance can change unexpectedly. Colors may become too vibrant, or too dull, not matching how they looked when they were originally chosen.
Pinwheel provides utilities to resolve these issues in a single click. The color processing features can be found under the color › process menu.

Assign sRGB #
This assigns the sRGB color space to the selected colors, preserving the raw color values. If the colors are not sRGB prior to running the action, their appearance may change.
Assign Display P3 #
This assigns the Display P3 color space to the selected colors, preserving the raw color values. If the colors are not Display P3 prior to running the action, their appearance may change.
Assign sRGB and Convert to Display P3 #
This assigns the sRGB color space to the selected colors, and then converts the colors to Display P3. This is a potential fix for colors that look too vibrant. Here’s a common way you might find yourself in a situation where you need this:
- You have a Display P3 or wide gamut screen.
- Your design tool is set to use sRGB.
- Your colours have been tagged as Display P3, or you’re viewing the design in a non-colour managed environment.
We added this feature to Pinwheel because it’s common issue.
