Installing and uninstalling

Robot Rocket is available as an Audio Unit version 3 plugin and a VST3 plugin for Windows and Mac.

Installing Windows VST version #

  1. Download the Robot Rocket installer from this website.
  2. Run the installer and follow the prompts.
  3. Robot Rocket will now be available to use in your audio app.

If you’d like to install the plugin manually, we have a separate download for that: VST for Windows

Installing Mac VST version #

  1. Download the Robot Rocket installer from this website.
  2. Run the installer and follow the prompts.
  3. Robot Rocket will now be available to use in your audio app.

If you’d like to install the plugin manually, we have a separate download for that: VST for Mac

Installing Audio Unit version #

Robot Rocket is an Audio Unit version 3 plugin. That means the plugin itself is stored inside the app. The app just needs to be placed in your Applications folder and opened.

  1. Download Robot Rocket from this website.
  2. UnZIP it and move it to your Applications folder.
  3. Open Robot Rocket.

That’s it! There is no step 4! As long as the plugin is on your Mac, it will continue to be available in Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Reaper and any audio app that supports version 3 Audio Units. Please note that side chaining is required to use Robot Rocket, which means the plugin will not be usable in GarageBand.

Updating Audio Unit version #

To update Robot Rocket to the latest version, just open the app and you should be prompted to install the update. If you’d like to check immediately, the Check for Updates menu item under the Robot Rocket menu can be used.

If there’s an update available, the plugin will indicate this in the top right corner.

Uninstalling Audio Unit version #

Drag the Robot Rocket app to the trash. There’s really no situation where this would be warranted though. You can’t vocode with no vocoder, eh?
