Bitwig #
If you’re seeing errors or plugins are missing in Bitwig, deleting the VST cache can resolve the problem.
- macOS: Delete
~/Library/Application Support/Bitwig/Bitwig Studio/index/and~/Library/Caches/Bitwig/vst-metadata. - Windows: Delete
C:\Users\yourusername/AppData/Local/BitwigStudio/indexandC:\Users\yourusername/AppData/Local/BitwigStudio/cache/vst-metadata
If the cache is deleted, Bitwig will rescan plugins. Bitwig have more info here: I upgraded my VST collection, now something is strange/missing. Why?
Logic Pro #
Please ensure you’ve followed the installation instructions. The next thing to try is clearing the Audio Unit cache, then restarting your Mac to force a scan. Here are the steps needed:
- In Finder, press ⌘G and go to the location:
~/Library/Caches/AudioUnitCache - Move everything inside the AudioUnitCache folder onto your desktop.
- Restart your Mac.
- Launch Logic Pro. It should rescan all plugins.
These are also the steps Apple advise.
